Ellie Goulding Supporting the Homeless
Ellie Goulding has spent years using her platform to highlight causes close to her heart, and this past Christmas she once again joined forces with Crisis, the UK’s national charity for people experiencing homelessness. For more than a decade, Goulding has supported the organization, returning each year to lend both her voice and her time.
In December 2024, she volunteered at one of Crisis’s Christmas services in London, helping to welcome guests, serve hot meals and drinks, and play games. Speaking about the experience, she admitted she was “in awe” of the dedication shown by Crisis staff and the hundreds of volunteers working tirelessly to provide warmth and comfort during the holiday season.
For Goulding, the issue of homelessness is deeply personal. She has said that seeing people sleeping rough as a child affected her profoundly, leaving her determined to act if she ever had the means to help. That determination has grown into long-term advocacy, and her annual visits to Crisis have become part of her mission to make homelessness impossible to ignore.
The challenge is urgent. In 2024, homelessness in the UK rose by more than 40 percent, with thousands of people forced to live without shelter. Crisis’s Christmas services offered more than 570 individuals their own room in hotels across London, alongside health and wellbeing support such as GP care, opticians, and counseling. The charity also provided specialist advice on benefits and housing, helping people plan for life beyond the holidays.
Ellie Goulding’s continued presence sends a powerful message—that compassion and consistency can inspire change. By showing up year after year, she highlights not only the severity of the issue but also the humanity and dignity of those affected. It is a reminder that small actions, when repeated and shared, can bring hope to those who need it most.
