Tracy Morgan has always been known for his sharp comedic timing, bold characters, and unmistakable voice. But in recent years, especially following his near-fatal accident in 2014, Morgan has taken on another role — one rooted in purpose, service, and deep gratitude.
In 2025, Morgan partnered with Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation to fight food insecurity across the United States. With personal donations totaling over $200,000, Morgan has helped provide meals for over 19,000 families. For many, this kind of support came at a time when rising prices and economic instability made something as basic as food feel out of reach.
When asked why this mission matters to him, Morgan didn’t hesitate. “It’s fun to get the love and support — but it’s better when you give it back,” he said. After surviving his accident and enduring a long recovery, Morgan says he no longer takes anything for granted. And that includes the ability to give — not just money, but time, attention, and care.
His work goes far beyond writing checks. Morgan participates in food distribution events, speaks publicly about the importance of community-based support, and uses his platform to encourage others to give in whatever way they can. He believes that comedy can heal, but compassion feeds something even deeper.
In addition to his charitable work, Morgan is returning to the screen with a new show, Crutch, which blends humor and hard truths in a semi-autobiographical format. But even amid the professional comeback, Morgan continues to make giving back a priority. To him, service isn’t something separate from success — it’s a measure of it.
“People think giving is a luxury,” he says. “But giving — real giving — is what keeps you grounded. It’s what reminds you that you’re part of something bigger.”
